Character Demographics:
Name: James "Sawyer" Ford
Age: Around thirty.
Physical Appearance: Sawyer is a tall, muscular man who has a very rough look about him. His dirty blonde hair falls past his ears, and he usually sports a five-o-clock shadow. He's usually smirking or has a grim look on his face.
Education: Dropped out in 9th grade. Learned on the streets.
Occupation: Con man
Significant Other: None, at the moment. He's usually got one around, till he scams them.
Sexual Preference: Women. And lots of 'em.




Character Biography:

History: When James was young, his mother had an affair with a man named Sawyer. The man conned James' mother and left them in financial ruins. When James' father found out what had happened, he killed his wife and then killed himself, not knowing that his son lay hiding under the bed he shot his brains out on. James vowed to get revenge on the man he blamed for ruining his family and his life. At eighteen, he found himself in debt and began to con people. He took on the name Sawyer, the man he was hunting.

Years later, James 'Sawyer' was told by an ex-partner where the Sawyer he was looking for was--in Australia. James 'Sawyer' killed the man only to find he had been set up by his ex-partner. While in Sydney, Sawyer got into a barfight with the Minister of Agriculture and was being deported.

But his plane never reached L.A. It crashed somewhere in the Pacific, on an island. Now finding himself forced to live in close quarters with the other survivors, and work together to fight another mysterious group of people on the island there--people who kidnap some of the survivors in the night, especially children--Sawyer at times felt the walls he had built up all his life to keep people out starting to chip away. Times when he felt this were when he lashed out the most. There was one woman who he did let in occasionally--Kate. She was a criminal, like him. But she was good; better than he was. Then there was Ana Lucia, the fiery, take-charge Latina. The bitch. And that sex was some of the best he'd ever had. But neither had really turned into a relationship.

And then they'd been rescued. Sawyer had been faced with a choice: he could either take this chance to start anew, leaving crime behind him, or go back to the only life he'd ever known. And when Kate ran off the first chance she got, Sawyer decided that he couldn't try to be what he wasn't. So he started conning again. He became rich fast, moving from town to town every few months or so. He then decided to try something out of the country. He then heard that Mr. Sawyer was in a town called Alternaville in Canada. He'd vowed he'd never set one damn foot on an airplane again, so he drove to Aternaville, Canada, in search of the man, or at least a rich, unhappy woman.

How Others Perceive Your Character: Depends if he's turning on the charm or not. He's a womans dream man every time, because he finds what she wants and becomes it. But when he's forced out of his mask, many people stay away from him, because he's so rude and dark.
Beliefs, Convictions, Morals: He struggles with himself, at times in self-loathing, because despite his actions and all his facade, he does have beliefs. He knows what he does is wrong. But he doesn't believe in God or religion--he hopes it's not true, because Hell doesn't sound too tantalizing. He has little faith in people, because so much of the human race is like him, and like the people he's been around his whole life.

1. What turns them on: A beautiful woman--depending on the mood, maybe he wants a take-charge kinda girl, maybe he wants someone to take charge of. A clever woman.
2. What turns them off: Shy, quiet girls. They gotta be bold.
3. Would they see a shrink: Not in a million years. Hell no. (He needs to though)
4. Worst Childhood experience: I'm gonna have to say that the time his father shot his mother outside his bedroom door and then came in and sat down on his bed--which young James was hiding under--and killed himself...That beats all.
